VI Training Courses was born to create an easier way for vehicle inspectors and workshop owners to maintain their knowledge of the Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual (VIRM) so that WOF and COF inspectors stay up to date with relevant knowledge even as the VIRM changes.
VI Training Ltd is a WOF training company that produces high quality and successful inspectors. Established in 2015, VI Training Ltd assists trainee inspectors in preparing for and successfully sitting in their NZTA final test.
VI Training Ltd has a demonstrated record with 95% of trainees passing their NZTA final exam after taking part in the training course. VI Training Ltd aims to deliver superior training to trainees enrolled and provide both individuals and sponsors with useful progress information which can indicate how successful a trainee is likely to do in their test.
Andrei Szabo is the owner-operator of VI Training Ltd and conducts practical training sessions for trainees. Andrei has 20 years of experience in the mechanical industry. Five of these years were spent as a WOF and COF inspector and three and a half of them in a teaching role, educating people on vehicle compliance regulations.
Practical training sessions teach trainees how to conduct a WOF or COF inspection, and how to use various equipment in a safe and competent manner. The instructor provides tips and advice on technique and also supplies strategies for successful inspections for trainees sitting their NZTA exams.Practical training sessions can be conducted for trainee inspectors, and existing or potential workshop employees who require a skills assessment and/or update
Online simulation tests are useful for trainees preparing to sit the NZTA exam, as well as for employers wanting to check existing and potential employees’ skills and abilities.
VI Training offers trainees personalized access to our training website. Through the website, trainees have access to online WOF Inspector simulation tests which mimic the NZTA final exam.
The website selects random questions for the simulation test from over 300 multiple choice training questions. The answers to the questions have to be found by trainees in the VIRM. At the completion of the test, trainees are given their results and told which questions they answered correctly. They are not provided with the correct answers to questions answered incorrectly. This promotes learning how to use the VIRM in comparison to memorizing the answers to set questions.
These results are compiled into a graph which allows the individual or sponsor to see how often the trainee is attempting the simulation exams, and how well they are doing in them.
Make sure you hire vehicle inspectors that know what they’re doing.Generally, all you have to gauge an inspector's ability is their word and what their referees have to say, which sometimes leaves you hiring the wrong person for the job. Get extra peace of mind by testing potential employees before they start dealing with your customers. One-off tests are quick, cost-effective way to assess the knowledge of a potential employee during the hiring process, or you see the areas where existing inspectors need to brush up.
Please note that there are additional requirements to become a vehicle inspector. Individuals must refer to the NZTA Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual (VIRM) for full details on the eligibility criteria for vehicle inspectors. Completing the VI TRAINING Preparatory Course does not guarantee an individual will be approved by NZTA.
